Building agility for your library starts with the development of a team taxonomy.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/hbr.org\/2018\/05\/agile-at-scale\">Agility at Scale (Harvard Business Review May-June 2018)<\/a>, businesses need to create a taxonomy broken into three components:\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong>Customer experience<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Business process<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<li><strong>Technology systems<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>By organizing for agility, libraries can identify opportunities and threats their organization faces.\u00a0 For example, when there is too much overlap in service responsibilities and processes, it may reduce the effectiveness of IT operations.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Libraries can become more agile by focusing on these team concepts. \u00a0Detail-oriented and interdisciplinary backgrounds are critical to the program, planning and development work.
