There was an article in the New York Times, April 4, 2009 about Bradley Inman &#8211; the inventor of the &#8220;vook&#8221; &#8211; a multi-stream, multimedia and hybrid publishing solution.  <\/p>\n<p>The name for the digital book has been something that we have been thinking about at ACA.  The &#8220;vook&#8221; is a great concept that should be explored further. <\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the article discusses the portability of books as an advantage for the old format.  This is something that has been challenged by Kindle and other e-book readers.  &#8220;For all the hype and initial success of devices like the Kindle, they threaten to strip traditional books of much of their transportive appeal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We believe the &#8220;vook&#8221; is the beginning of a new trend in content and information. Even though &#8220;Tradition-minded readers might resist the notion of stories gussied up with potentially gratuitous video and encumbered with the need for conversations between writer and reader&#8221; &#8211; we believe 10 years into the future publishing a book will be more interactive then static.<\/p>\n<p>click here for nytimes story<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The future of the book is very important to our work.
