Our library planning team researches user needs and the history of the library and its community. We use a set of techniques such as Planning for Results. We also do statistical research. Web sites such as the National Center for Education is a good example.

For each project we do focus groups and interviews of the library community. We translate the needs of the community and apply our library building model to provide options for the future.

The library building is a complex set of user, collection and staff spaces. Our programming efforts account for physical sq. ft. requirements while our layouts help our clients visualize and "test" the possibilities. To understand each requirement we may transfer the architectural plans to CAD.
